Congratulations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® North Jersey Affiliate who was the primary beneficiary of the 2011 CIO Technology Exchange and Charity Golf Outing held by the New Jersey Chapter of the Society for Information Management (NJ SIM) Foundation on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Neshanic Valley Golf Course.  Lisa Gallipoli of Millburn, the Affiliate’s Executive Director, and Board members Robin Ventura of Murray Hill and Joe Belfatto of Summit were presented with donation of $31,000 from NJ SIM Foundation at their September 8th meeting at the Madison Hotel. The check was presented by Michael Szot, Chair of the 2011 NJ SIM Foundation Golf Event, and Bob DeCarlo, President of the NJ SIM Foundation along with members of the 2011 Golf Committee. The donation is earmarked to support the technology needs of the Affiliate and will be used specifically to upgrade the computers at the Komen North Jersey Affiliate office, which will be relocating to Madison in the Winter of 2012. “Employees only talk about technology and IT when it’s NOT working,” said Gallipoli.  “At Komen North Jersey, we talk about technology ALL THE TIME, so this gift, and our partnership with NJ SIM, could not have come at a better time for our Affiliate.”

In addition to the donation that the NJ SIM Foundation provided to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the foundation also provided scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each to two very deserving students from Rutgers University.
